Senior Colts - Match Report - Widnes

The Senior Colts opening game of the season was played at home against Widnes, this was the first opportunity for our new recruits to experience competitive rugby both as individuals and as a team.

The team started well growing into the game and starting to implement some of the lessons learnt on the training ground, however Widnes absorbed that early pressure and then started to impose there game on Aldwinians.

Widnes scored a number of unanswered tries, although Aldwinians never gave up with Nathan Claire tackling every thing that moved, some thing he continued to do until the very end.

When the colts executed well Reece Moran finally got over the line to score the colts only points. With a multitude of substitutions in the second half the game slowed, although Hayden Whitbread made an instant impact with a tackling performance that was second to none.

When the final whistle blew Widnes had come out on top, with Aldwinians having learnt a number of key lessons, with key areas to improve on for next week.
