Under 18s - Match Report - Trafford MV

A home fixture that did not fail deliver entertainment and frustration in equal measure.

As most weeks the Aldwinians U18s got of to a good start, with plenty of intelligent play, utilising all that has been practiced in training. Good pods and good control from the 9 and 10 combination of Sam Cooper and Hayden Whitbread seen a dozen close calls on the opposition try line.

However the first home score came from some great running down the middle with good off loads and great support running from the Man of the Match Nathan Clare. The teams where evenly matched for the remainder of the first half before TMV pulled level after missed tackles from the home side. The first half finished with a change in scrum half as Sam Cooper went off injured.

The second half started as the first half had ended, with defences largely staying on top, there was a number of missed opportunities from the home side, before TMV scored again. Eventually Dante was once again able to break from the base of the scrum and crash over and through the TMV defence. This was to be the last Aldwinians score as TMV went on to score again and take the win.

Although the colts did not give up to the very last minute with stand out performances coming from Noah Young in the forwards, Jak Greenhaigh at outside centre, Reece Moran at 5, Dante at 8 and Hayden at 10.
