We are thrilled to invite you to the highly anticipated Emily’s Legacy Tournament 2025, a special event that celebrates the spirit of women’s rugby while supporting an important cause. This annual tournament is more than just a competition—it is a heartfelt tribute to Emily’s memory and a powerful fundraiser for raising awareness about baby loss.

Time: 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Location: Aldwinians RUFC, Droylsden Road, Audenshaw, M34 5SN

This event brings together rugby players, officials, and supporters from across the North West and beyond, all united by a shared passion for the sport and a commitment to a meaningful cause.

Tournament Format

Teams: 12-a-side
Match Duration: 15-minute games
Competition Tiers: Plate, Bowl, and Vase

The tournament offers an exciting and competitive atmosphere, culminating in a post-tournament After Party at Aldwinians RUFC, where we continue the celebrations in honor of Emily and the incredible women involved in rugby.

Participating Teams

We are excited to welcome teams from Aldwinians, Ponteland, Ashbourne, Wharfdale, Didsbury Toc H, and Congleton to this year’s tournament. These teams represent the strength and camaraderie of women’s rugby, making this event a true celebration of the sport.

The Story Behind Emily’s Legacy

Emily’s Legacy was established by the members of Aldwinians Ladies to honor the memory of one of the team’s daughters, who was born asleep. What started as a tribute has grown into a significant annual event that seeks to break the taboo surrounding baby loss while also fostering the development of women’s rugby.

Each year, we strive to make the tournament bigger and better, and in 2025, we are taking it to the next level. This year’s event will evolve into a full-scale festival, featuring additional activities, interactive engagement, and enhanced fundraising opportunities—all in the name of Emily and Women’s Rugby.
