Having worked in the telecommunications industry since 1993 for various companies such as NG Baileys and then latterly, Network Connect, the founder of the company, Edmund (Eddy) Leonard decided to set up edi Communications in March 2005, providing a bespoke and personal service to his clients.

Since then, the company has tendered for, and successfully acquired several large maintenance contracts, including becoming the north-west's preferred supplier for Avaya support for a nationwide telecoms support provider.

This has led to the organic and sustained growth of the company throughout the years, along with increasing and improving the skill-sets of the engineers that work for the company as new product lines have been added to the company's portfolio of services.
