Welcome to the Under 10s at Aldwinians RUFC

The Under 10s team is made up of children who are 9 years old (Year 5 at school) as of 1st September. At this age, players continue their exciting journey into contact rugby, developing confidence, skills, and a strong sense of teamwork both on and off the pitch.

Training and Matches

The Under 10s train regularly at Aldwinians RUFC with:

Friday evening training sessions
Sunday mornings – a mix of training and matches against other local clubs

As always, after Sunday rugby we come together for team lunches, which are included in the weekly subs. This is a great chance for players to refuel, relax, and build friendships beyond the game.

Playing Rugby at U10s

At this stage, the game develops further, with players building on their tackling skills and being introduced to more of rugby’s core elements. Our coaching team ensures every child learns in a safe, supportive, and fun environment.

To play, children will need:

A gum shield (essential for contact rugby)
Rugby boots with studs
Optional body armour for added confidence and protection
A responsible adult present at sessions, or another parent nominated to look after them

While rugby can bring the odd bump or graze, it’s all part of the learning process – and we focus on safety, teamwork, and enjoyment at every step.

Kit and Club Pride

Each Under 10 player receives a club match shirt. Families also have the option to purchase a wide range of additional Aldwinians kit, including shorts, socks, hoodies and more – perfect for showing off club colours with pride.
